A paper by Pierpaolo Dondio, Stephen Barrett and Luca Longo has been accepted for publication for a Special Issue of the Journal of Autonomic and Trusted Computing on Ubisafe Computing . The paper is entitled "Application-Contained Trust Computation: the Case of Self-Organizing Systems of Information".

A new project investigating coordination, organisation and model-driven approaches for dynamic, flexible, robust software and services engineering kicks off in February. The project is called ALIVE and is funded under the EU Framework 7 programme. DSG's effort is led by Siobhán Clarke.

Killian Levacher was presented today with the 2007 Ericsson Best Dissertation Prize from the M.Sc. in Computer Science (Networks and Distributed Systems). His dissertation is entitled "Elite, an Ethical 3rd Generation P2P Search Engine" and was supervised by Stephen Barrett.

Stephen Barrett has kicked off two new projects focussed on P2P under the Enterprise Ireland Proof of Concept programme. The first, Sophie, will deliver a P2P search personalisation platform based on decentralised and non-invasive trust computation. The second, Peerhosting, will deliver a market system and enabling platform for the trading of web hosting capacity among WHPs.

Gavin Doherty has secured funding from Enterprise Ireland under their Proof of Concept programme to produce a software framework for applications in the mental health care setting. The framework will specifically support development of a suite of new applications incorporating rich media content.

Connor Upton and Gavin Doherty have recently had a paper accepted to IJHCS entitled "Extending Ecological Interface Design Principles: A Manufacturing Case Study".
