[2007-12-10] New Enterprise Ireland Project

Gavin Doherty has secured funding from Enterprise Ireland under their Proof of Concept programme to produce a software framework for applications in the mental health care setting. The framework will specifically support development of a suite of new applications incorporating rich media content.

[2007-11-30] NEMBES kicks off in November

A new project on Networked Embedded Systems kicked-off in November, with DSG collaborating with research groups in CIT, UCC, UCD and TCD's KDEG. DSG will further its research on middleware, programming models and supporting services for sentient computing applications especially urban smart spaces and intelligent transportation systems. The project is funded under HEA PRTLI4, with DSG's effort led by Vinny Cahill.

[2007-11-30] DSG Hosts MobiQuitous 2008

The Fifth Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing, Networking and Services (MobiQuitous 2008 ) will be held here in Trinity College from 21st-25th July 2008, with Vinny Cahill as the General Chair. Papers are due on March 15th, so get writing!

René Meier chairs the Program Committee for the 8th IFIP International Conference on Distributed Applications and Interoperable Systems (DAIS 2008) that will take place in Oslo, Norway, June 4–6, 2008.

Cormac Driver, Gregor Gaertner, Colin Harris, Barbara Hughes and Andronikos Nedos received their doctorate degrees in a commencement ceremony on June 15th 2007.
